Inside The Wren House
The Wren House was the first one, and it's still the one I'd pick for a long weekend. It's a 1940s bungalow two streets off Eastland — original oak floors, a kitchen we rebuilt in 2021 around a very serious stove, and a screened porch that runs the width of the house. Every stay ends up out there.
Three bedrooms sleep six without anyone on a sofa: a king, a queen, and a bunk room kids fight over in a good way. Coffee, spices, olive oil, and a stocked pantry shelf are already in the kitchen — bring less than you think.

About Nora
"Six rooms of my own instead of two hundred of someone else's."
I bought the Wren House in 2016 after ten years working hotel front desks. One house became two, then a workshop in Wedgewood-Houston I definitely didn't need, and now there are six. I still do the buying, the books, and most of the texting back; the same crew of four has turned the houses over for years.
What I care about: beds worth the drive, kitchens you'd actually cook in, and answers within the hour. What I don't: decorative pillows you have to move before you can sit down. If something's wrong, you text me and it gets fixed. That's the whole model.
